Gary Anderson
June 25th, 1933 - May 8th, 2012
He lived, he loved, he had a good life. He was loved by his wife, children and grandchildren. "Lieutenant" Gary G. Anderson travelled to his mountaintop to watch over his family on May 8, 2012 in Tucson, AZ. He was born June 25,1933, the son of Vera A. McCarthy and George B. Anderson, and stepson of Robert A. McCarthy. He married the love of his life, June Naylor, November 11,1954. Together they raised three children of whom they are very proud. His family always came first. He retired in 1988 as a Lieutenant with the Salt Lake County Sheriff's Office after 24 years. He loved entertaining friends and family with stories from his police work. Gary was a graduate of South High School, Stevens Heneger College of Business and had a degree from Northwestern University in Traffic Investigation. He taught traffic investigation for all incoming traffic officers for multiple agencies in Utah. Gary also served our country in the U.S. Navy. Survived by his beloved wife, June; children, Cathy (Mitch) Karson, Vicky Gooding and Lisa Anderson (Martin Porter); grandsons Patrick Gooding and Christopher Anderson; granddaughters Amanda Gooding and Rhonda Karson; his brother Robert (Jolene) McCarthy and "his cat" Molly-Baby.
