Gary J. Chavez

Gary J. Chavez, 56, a resident of Albuquerque died Friday, June 23, 2017. Gary was born May 8, 1961, in Albuquerque, NM, son of Oriol & Lou Ann Chavez, who predeceased him. Gary is also preceded in death by his brother Charles Chavez. He is survived by his children Gary Chavez and Anna Marie Chavez, his three brothers, Gilbert & wife Connie Chavez, Johnny Chavez, and Joseph "Jojo" Chavez, his three sisters Debbie Trujillo, Louise & husband Vince Archibeque, and Maga Chavez. He was affectionately known as "G-Man". Gary graduated from West Mesa High School and immediately joined the Army. One of the greatest musicians to many, he was extremely talented in many string instruments, learning from his father Oriol. Gary loved and trusted the Lord and gave his life to Christ. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends. Services will be held at 10:00 AM at Riverside Funeral Home at 225 San Mateo Blvd, NE in Albuquerque, with a reception lunch to follow at the American Legion Post 99 located at 540 Louisiana Blvd., NE in Albuquerque. A private inurnment will take place at a later date.
