GARY L. GAWTHORP age 80, Johnson Creek formerly of Olney, IL passed away on Tuesday April 12, 2016 at the Jefferson Memory Care facility in Jefferson, WI. He was born on January 31, 1936 in West Salem, Illinois to Loy and Arilla (Headley) Gawthorp. Gary served in the United States Army from 1956-1959. Gary married Mary Mann on August 27, 1960, she preceded him in death on June 5, 2001. He was employed at General Motors in Janesville until his retirement in 2001. He is survived by his daughters Sheila (Ken Hagedorn II) Heitz of Johnson Creek, Paula Gawthorp of Naples, FL, Teresa (James) Spangenberger of Delavan, WI, Christina Dykstra of Naples, FL. Son Kevin (Nancy) Gawthorp of West Allis, WI Many grandchildren and several Great grandchildren. Step daughter-in-law Wendy Butcher of Burlington, WI He is preceded in death by his wife Mary Gawthorp, step son Ronald Butcher, His parents and Brothers Wayland and Keith Gawthorp, Visitation will be held from 1:00-2:00 p.m. on Sunday April 17, 2016 at the Ingram Funeral Home in West Salem, IL. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. also at the Ingram Funeral Home 201 E Church St, West Salem, IL 62476. Burial with Military Honors will follow in the Macedonia Cemetery in West Salem, IL Schneider-Michaelis Funeral home is assisting the family in Wisconsin, Ingram Funeral Home is assisting the family in Illinois.
