I knew Gary when he and Jan had their mountain home in Jasper, Georgia. Two of the sweetest people. And I was fortunate to visit their lovely home in Plant City, Florida. He was always so polite and kind. Prayers for his precious family and many friends.

What is your favorite memory shared with Gary?

Grandaddy taught me at a very young age how to play chess. I still remember the black and white marble chess board we used. In fact, it sits on my dining room table to this day. It reminds me of his love and patience that he had for me when I was young. Some of my best memories come from visiting him in the Georgia mountains on my summer breaks when I was younger. He would allow me to search through his flower beds for scorpions and spiders as long as I put his rocks back where I found them. Grandaddy had a plum tree that was off limits to me, but I am sure he knew I ate them. I have many more memories that will stay with me forever. You will be missed Grandaddy, and always remembered.
