Gary Allen Lane
April 25th, 1974 - September 9th, 2014
Gary A. Lane, Jr, 40 from Meridian, ID, passed away on September 9, 2014. He was Born to Gary and Mary Lane on April 25, 1974. He grew up in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho area. He enjoyed playing with his brother and sisters in the woods surrounding the house. If he wasn’t outside playing he was inside tearing things apart to see how they worked. He had a very full childhood. While in junior high he became a chess master and continued this passion for the rest of his life. He graduated from Post Falls High School and joined the Army right out of high school at the age of 18. Gary enjoyed being a prankster in Boot Camp. He learned how to operate the patriot missile and took pride in that and his country. He was sent overseas to Kuwait during the Gulf War and then went to Korea. He was interested in the different cultures of those countries. While in the Army he met Debra Payne and married her. From this union they have a daughter, Allyssa Lane. At the start of their marriage they lived in Houston, TX and then they moved to the Boise Area. They were later divorced. Later he met and married the love of his life, Pamela Walters. He continued to show his adventurist side when he proposed to her at Lake Tahoe on a cruise boat with family around them. They were married on September 15, 2007 with their friends and family there. They have 2 sons Jacob, 5 and Kaleb, 4. Shortly after their wedding Gary was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. Because of this he was the primary caregiver for both of his sons. He was willing to give up everything he had for his family. Gary had many struggles because of the MS, but he was a fighter. He was willing to help anyone. If it was beyond his limitations he would find a way to do it. Gary always had an upbeat attitude and it showed in everything he did. Gary is a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Gary was preceded in death by both sets of his grandparents and Grandma and Grandpa Walters, Aunt Alice Russell, a brother Michael Finley Lane and a very special Aunt Lola Kathleen Bale.
