Gary Russell Paxton
October 1st, 1940 - August 16th, 2024
Gary Russell Paxton, 83, husband of the late Ginger Lynn Blevins Paxton, passed away on August 16, 2024 in Lexington. Gary was born in Louisville, Kentucky on October 1, 1940 to the late J. Vernon Paxton and Marion Fuller Paxton. His hobbies and interests included coaching little league, horses, sports, a good cold beer, live music, the Austin City Saloon and Chinoe Pub but more than any of this, his time with family and beloved friends is what he cherished most including dear friends Skip Seltman and Pete Eisele.
He leaves behind his son, Gregory R. Paxton; brother, Jay Paxton; sister-in-law, Audrey Blevins; sister-in-law, Ruth (Frank) Moran; brother-in-law, Billy Blevins; and brother-in-law Frank (Cheryl) Blevins as well as a host of nieces, nephews and countless friends.
In addition to his parents and wife, Gary was preceded in death by his son, Brian V. Paxton.
Visitation will be from 5pm-6pm on Monday, August 19, 2024 at Clark Legacy Center-Brannon Crossing, Nicholasville. The funeral service will be held at 6pm with a happy hour gathering to follow until 8pm at the funeral home.
