October 28th, 1938 - December 30th, 2008
York, Gary D., 70, of Seminole, FL, passed away on Tuesday, December 30th at home under the loving care of the Ivory hospice team and his wife Sue. An Air Force veteran, he lived in Tell City, IN and moved to Florida in 1986. He is survived by his daughter: Toni Booth; brother: Rudy York; a grandson: Sean Booth; his loving wife: Sue and her daughter, 1 grandchild and 4 great-grandchildren; and an extended family in Indiana. Gary worked for many years as the Head of Finances for the University of Indiana and was a loyal fan of the University. Gary raised and raced Arabian horses from 1970 to 1986. Upon moving to Florida, he went in to private practice opening his own tax accounting firm. He was a gourmet cook and loved fine food with fine friends. A Celebration of Gary's life will take place on Saturday, January 17th at 4pm at ALife Tribute FuneralCare-Largo Chapel, 716 Seminole Blvd. N, Largo, FL. The family has requested in lieu of flowers; that donations are made to The Hospice of the Florida Suncoast, 5771 Roosevelt Blvd., Clearwater, FL 33760.
