Gaylord "Gabe" Parker
September 8th, 1931 - January 10th, 2013
Gaylord “Gabe” Parker Gabe Parker, age 81, passed away on January 10, 2013 in Tacoma, WA. He was born on September 8, 1931 in Tontogany, OH, the son of Clarence and Olive Ruth (Hixson) Parker. He spent most of his childhood in Sherwood and went to Defiance College before enlisting in the Air Force for four years, he then went and served about another 30 years in the Air Force Reserves. Gabe served our country in the Korean War, Vietnam War and Desert Storm. He worked as a teacher in WA State before retiring. Over the years he enjoyed being in the Masons and playing golf. One of his most proud accomplishments was working at Rainier National Park in WA. Gabe is survived by a sister, Molly (John) Parker Barcellos of CA and 4 nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother, Lee Satch Parker. Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, January 23 at 11:00 am at Sherwood Cemetery. Please leave condolences in the guestbook below.
