Genaro "Jimmy" Soto

Mr. Genaro "Jimmy" Soto, 72, of 2nd Avenue, Amsterdam passed away peacefully January 23, 2008 at his home. Born on March 4, 1935 in Orocovis, Puerto Rico he was the son of the late Miguel Soto Sr. and Saturina Hernandez. Mr. Soto was first employed for 18 years for Bayshore Industires, and later Gem Urathane for 19years until his retirement. His loving family includes, one son, Genaro Soto Jr. and his wife Cassandra of Scotia, NY; five daughters, Diana Buanno and her husband Brian of Johnstown, NY, Yolanda Soto of Kingston, NY, Wilma Moore and her husband Jeffrey of Swanton, Ohio, Lisa Lynch of Pelham, NY, Angie Soto of Amsterdam, NY; two brothers, Santos Soto of Amsterdam, NY and Miguel Soto Jr. of Puerto Rico, his special "sister" Esther Santiago of Puerto Rico; thirteen grandchildren, Danielle and Joey Ortiz, Miles Buanno, Drake, Ty and Trina Moore, Joshua Zuniga, Kylie Sanchez, Jayden Lao, Anthony, Christian, Logan and Joceline Soto; his ex- life partner, the mother of his children, Trina Sandoval, of Amsterdam, NY; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by a brother, Eugenio Soto and his sisters, Floria and Juana Soto. Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday, January 29, 2008 at 11a.m. at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Avenue, Amsterdam. Interment will be private at St. Michael's Cemetery. Calling hours will be held on Monday afternoon from 4 until 6 at the funeral home.
