Gene W. Correll, 79, of Port Charlotte, Florida passed away Friday, June 7, 2013 at Fawcett Memorial Hospital in Port Charlotte. Mr. Correll was born September 24, 1933 in Muskegon, Michigan to Harry W. and Bernice (nee Peterson) Correll and moved to this area 22 years ago from Ann Arbor, MI. Mr. Correll worked as a director of education at various hospitals and was a veteran of the Korean War serving in the US Navy. He was of Protestant faith. Mr. Correll is survived by his wife, Margery Ann (nee Crego) Correll of Port Charlotte; son, Walter G. (Rebecca) Correll of New Orleans, LA; daughter, Lisa June Correll of Ann Arbor, MI; brothers, Sherman (Linda) Correll of Spring Lake, MI and Dana Alan (Barbara) Correll of Knoxville, TN; sisters, Lynn Bramer of Michigan and Christina (Ron) Paulsen of Sunnyside, CA; 2 grandchildren; and 5 great-grandchildren.
