February 18th, 1937 - May 29th, 2021
Mr. Gene Hyman, age 84 a resident of Auburndale passed away Saturday, May 29, 2021 at Winter Haven Hospital surrounded by family. Mr. Hyman was born February 18, 1937 in Black, Alabama to Ira Oscar and Jewell Dovie (Parrish) Hyman. Gene was an Auburndale resident for over 65 years, graduated from Auburndale High School in 1954 and attended New Hope Fellowship Church in Auburndale. He was the Owner/Operator of Polk Air Filter Sales in Lakeland. Gene enjoyed fishing, all sports, watching the grandkids play baseball and spending time with his family. He was preceded in death by his parents; 3 brothers – Earl, Paul & Carl and sister – Helen. Gene is survived by his loving family, wife of 64 years – Linda Hyman; daughter – Teresa (Greg) Gaither and son – Sidney (Charlotte) Hyman all of Auburndale; 7 grandchildren – Josh (May), Somer (Eric), Talisha (Scott), Cody, Jared (Kim), Mallory (Colby) and Jenna Joy (Bronson); 7 gt grandchildren – Asher, Norah, Zoey, Sydney, Bryce, Kayleigh and Keanna. Funeral service will be 11:00 am Monday, June 7th at Kersey Funeral Home with visitation beginning at 10 am at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Auburndale Memorial Park.
