June 29th, 1936 - January 2nd, 2014
Gene Lane, 77, of Greeley, CO passed away January 2, 2014 at Life Care Center of Greeley. He was born June 29, 1936 in Cape Girardeau, MO to Howard and Leona (Rubel) Lane. He graduated from Greeley Central High School in 1956. Gene married Donna Delaney in Greeley in 1957. He later married Jane Corder on Valentine’s Day, 1986. He worked for Safeway as a meat cutter for 40 years and retired in Chandler, AZ in 1991. Gene and Jane returned to Greeley in 2003. Gene enjoyed golfing, baseball, traveling and gardening, especially raising his flowers. He is survived by his wife, Jane; children, Robert (Tensia) Lane and Robin (Larry) Troxel; grandchildren, Lee, Brandon, Mikel, and Collin; and two great grandchildren. Gene was preceded in death by his parents. Memorial service 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, January 7, 2014 at Trinity Lutheran Church, 3000 35th Avenue, Greeley. Memorials may be made to "Trinity Lutheran Church” in care of Trinity Lutheran Church, 3000 35th Avenue, Greeley, CO 80634.
