Genevieve Jean Ridgway

Genevieve J. Ridgway, 84, of Loveland Co. passed away peacefully April 23, 2018 at her home surrounded by family.  She will truly be missed.  ‘Gen’ as most knew her by, was born in Berthoud Co. to Solon and Gladys Yates in 1934 and graduated from Berthoud High School in 1952.  Her family ran a service station in Berthoud where she spent many memorable hours growing up.  In 1953 she started with Mountain Bell in Berthoud as a telephone switchboard operator and later would travel up to the Fort Collins site to continue for 12 years.  Gen, later went back to work with Schrader Oil Co. as a manager and bookkeeper at a service station for 15 years.  July 25, 1958, she married Earle Ridgway and they called Fort Collins their home for many years.  They have two children, Sandy and Ron, 4 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.  In 1998, Gen and Earle retired to the Loveland area. Survivors include her husband Earle of Loveland; her daughter Sandra of Fort Collins; her son Ron and Diane of Loveland; as well as grandchildren, great grandchildren, cousins, and all the dear friends she encountered.  She was preceded in death by both her parents, several aunts and uncles, and many found friendships that were made along her path.
