Geoff Free Lemos

On August 25th 2024 The Lemos Family suddenly and tragically lost their son, brother, grandson, nephew, and uncle, Geoff Free.

For those that knew Geoff, you knew his story spanned the US; including Colorado, Texas, Kansas and his birthplace of Los Angeles, California. At the center of it all he had a deep love of the nature and rolling mountains of Tucson, Arizona where his remains will be scattered and safeguarded by his surviving grandparents, Kay and Richard Gabany.

Geoff loved learning and practicing survival skills, and was convinced he could win a season of any and all kinds of survival shows. He loved building fires—maybe a little too much—and for his family, sitting at the fire pit in Tucson will remain some of their most favorite memories with him.

He was very industrious, known for being great with his hands; making jewelry, working construction, working on cars, and tinkering on his skateboard—not to mention his magician era where he was never without a deck of cards.

To think of him is to also think of skateboarding and the countless hours he spent with his friends at skateparks. With the news of his passing, the family has been extremely touched to hear of the greater network of friends and support that Geoff had through skating.

While his passing is a tragic loss, we reflect in knowing how loved Geoff Free is, and how deeply he will forever be sorely missed.

He is additionally survived by his parents, Brett Lemos and Debbie Lemos; step-mother Mireya Banderas; his sister Brittany Lemos Eide; his step-sisters Kyara Rodriguez and Ericka Posyton; and his maternal brothers Kris and Bryan Burpee. Geoff is preceded in death by his older maternal sister Jennifer Burpee.

A memorial service will be held on September 7th at 2:00 PM at 4810 Sunset Blvd, Los Angeles CA 90027.
