George Battersby of Salinas, CA passed away peacefully at home on August 21, 2020 after a brief illness. He was 64 years old. He was the eldest son of Leslie Charles “Charlie” and Brenda Battersby, born December 29th, 1955 in San Jose, CA. He was a long time resident of the Central Coast, and worked nearly exclusively in the construction trades. He enjoyed spending his free time with his family and friends and pursuing his hobbies: bowling, photography, golfing, fly fishing, and wood working. He is survived and remembered lovingly by his mother Brenda, his wife of 35 years Lianne, daughter Miranda (Joshua), granddaughters (Remie and Evangeline), sisters Carol Ann (Steve) and Ruth (Thomas), brothers Leslie (Deborah) and Bert, and a large extended family. He was preceded in death by his father, Leslie Charles Battersby. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly suggests that a donation be made to a charity of your choosing. Scattering of ashes to occur at a later time.

He and his wife founded Salinas Valley Mortuary in 1956 to help serve the families in the Salinas Valley area. Their lifelong mission was to unselfishly serve area families based on their strong, trusting relationship with their community – something we honor to this day almost seven decades years later....
