George Bill Allen
May 18th, 1938 - March 11th, 2016
My Life Story George "Bill" W. Allen, 77, of Boise, died Friday, March 11, 2016 at his home. Bill was born on May 18, 1938 in Holtville, CA at home on the family ranch. He was the 3rd child, first boy, of four children to Eva Andrea Kendall and Cecil Dennis Allen. He grew up attending Holtville Friends Church. He graduated from Holtville Union High School in 1955. At the age of 19, Bill went to work for Pacific Telephone as an engineer and continued work until 1992 when it was known as Pacific Bell. His work took him from El Centro to the San Francisco area and then to the San Diego area. Bill married Donna Lair at the age of 22 and they had two wonderful boys, Steven and Paul. Their two sons gave them three wonderful granddaughters: Rochelle, Dana and Amy. Upon retiring from Pacific Bell he took a two year hiatus and then worked 10 additional years for various cell phone companies in California. Bill and Donna moved to Meridian, Idaho in 2005 as his son Paul and family had moved to the Meridian area and he wanted to be closer to family as he had had some health problems. Shortly after moving to Idaho, Donna began having memory problems and was diagnosed with Alzheimer's. Bill was her sole care giver. Donna went to heaven in October of 2012. Bill attended Meridian Friends Church and was an active volunteer, teacher, and mentor to many. His faith and trust in the Lord is a true testament to him and one that will always be referred to when speaking of Bill. Bill met Judy in early 2015 and within weeks knew he had again been given another chance at love and happiness in his life. They were married in late April at Meridian Friends Church. With the addition of Judy in Bill's life came an abundance of grandkids and great-grandkids who adore Bill. Bill is survived by his loving wife, Judy, his two sons, Paul (Jeana) Allen and their daughter, Rochelle (Jon) Kurz of Meridian and Steve Allen and his daughters, Dana Allen of Meridian, and Amy Allen of San Diego, CA. He is also survived by Judy's children: Suzie and Chad Heimbigner and their sons, Jacob and Nick of Spokane, WA, and John Rapp and his daughter, Sofia Bahruth of Boise. There are additional great-grandchildren of Judy's that have been taken by the charms of Bill and called him Grandpa Bill on every occasion as they ran into the house with outstretched arms for a Grandpa hug. These precious grandchildren now have an Angel in heaven watching over their every move. Bill is also survived by his sister, Edith (J.P.) Jackson of Holtville, CA, sister, Peggy (Jon) Roth of Tucson, AZ, and brother, Dennis (Sandy) Allen of Clovis, NM, and numerous nieces and nephews, cousins and extended family throughout the United States and Columbia South America. We send our special love to Ed, Roxanne, Gary and Kara in this time of sorrow. Although the time was short for Bill and Judy every day was a glorious day. Bill loved the new adventures in his life and quickly became an advocate of Judy's parties. He loved having friends and family around their dinner table sharing food and stories. Bill never lost his sense of humor and was even heard offering the Pastor and his wife a "beer" two days before his passing. He taught us all that you embrace life to the fullest, love the Lord Jesus Christ with your whole heart, and eat chocolate daily. Bill's faith moved mountains and we can all learn from him. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, March 17, 2016 at 2:00 P.M. at the Meridian Friends Church, 1021 W. Pine Ave, Meridian, with burial to follow at Meridian Cemetery. A Celebration dinner sponsored by Meridian Friends congregation will follow the graveside service. We would like to offer a very special thank you to Legacy Hospice for providing "angels" C. J. and Tanya to care for Bill, and the compassionate care of Steven Fine, Chaplain. Special thanks to those many wonderful friends and who brought food, companionship, and love to the family this past week. Remembrances may be left for the family at www.AccentFuneral.com. Services are under the direction of Accent Funeral Home, Meridian.

Accent Funeral Home
A local landmark in Meridian, Accent Funeral Home has been serving the community since 1986. The business was first established with a vision to offer services in a comfortable, homelike atmosphere. This vision is reflected in our building, a Tudor-style home built in 1938 for a local postman. When remodeling the house to accommodate the funeral home, much care was taken to preserve the original architectural integrity of the building. The Accent Funeral Home holds a special relationship with the Meridian community and is sensitive to the area’s changing needs, providing service and friendship to comfort those we serve....
