George Robert Blank passed away June 12, 2016 in Olympia, Washington. He was born June 19, 1942 to Joe and Mary Margaret (Lawson) Blank in Rock Springs, Wyoming. George attended Lincoln High School in Tacoma, Washington, and received a BA in Accounting from Idaho State University in Pocatello, Idaho in 1969. He joined the U.S. Navy on August 14, 1959, rose to the rank of Radioman 3, and was honorably discharged on May 31, 1963. He married Carol J. O’Neill on July 18, 1964 in Tacoma. They enjoyed nearly 52 years together. For three of those years, they traveled full time in a motorhome, visiting all 48 contiguous states. When people asked where the best place was, George always said, “Washington State!” George is survived by his loving wife, Carol; sons, Patrick (Viola) of Pohnpei, Micronesia, and Jonathan (Xu Mei) of Nantong, China; daughter, Jennifer (Brian) Sharp of Ocean Park, Washington; and 10 grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents; and brother, Joseph W. Blank. Please leave memories of George or condolences for his family in the Guestbook below.
