George Allen Booher
March 12th, 1963 - October 31st, 2018
George Allen Booher of Salinas, passed away peacefully at home Wedesday, Oct. 31, 2018. George was born March 12, 1963 in Logansport, Indiana. He was raised in Ohio and was a 1981 graduate from Mississinwa Valley High School. George immediately joined the Marines and was a proud Marine Veteran. After he was discharged, he immediately was employed with the State of California Dept. of Corrections and retired after 21 years. George was also the proud owner of BASIS Auto Security in Salinas. George is remembered for his big warm heart, generous spirit. Those who met him had a friend for life. He was a member of the Salinas Masonic Temple. George spent his spare time traveling with his wife and was a dedicated Pyro Technician Operator with Pyro Spectaculars. You may have seen many of his masterpieces at our local Salinas Rodeo, Watsonville Fire in the Sky Fourth of July Show, the Feast of Lanterns in Pacific Grove and his favorite show on the Waikiki Beach in Hawaii. George is preceded in death by his parents, Andrew and Alvira Booher, his brother, Vincent Booher and mother in law, Juana Sadorra, whom he adored. George is survived by his beloved wife of 30 years, Betty Booher, His sons, Matthew Booher and Robert McElroy, daughters, Liz Mallari and Eunice Escobar, his sisters, Andge Shirk and Florie Dempsey. His grandchildren, Lexi and Alyssa Mallari, Bobby Escobar and Jordan Lopez. His sister in laws and brother in laws along with numerous nieces, nephews, whom he all loved unconditionally. George also leaves behind his greatly loved dogs, "Chappie and Bella". Visitation will be held on Mon. Nov. 5, 2018 1-9pm with an Evening Prayer Service at 6, all at Healey Mortuary 405 N. Sanborn Rd Salinas, CA 93905. Funeral Services will take place on Tues. Nov. 6, 2018 10am at the Healey Mortuary Chapel. Burial with Military Honors will follow at the Garden of Memories Cemetery 850 Abbott St. Salinas, CA 93905.

Healey hoped to find a way to continue to meaningfully help his county and community grow. He and his wife founded Salinas Valley Mortuary in 1956 to help serve the families in the Salinas Valley area. Their lifelong mission was to unselfishly serve area families based on their strong, trusting relationship with their community – something we honor to this day almost seven decades years later....
