"Wilbraham - George C. Collette , 78, of Bruuer Ave. passed on August 8, 2014. Born September 19, 1935 in Ludlow, he was the son of Albert and Florence (Byant) Collette. George has been a lifelong resident of Wilbraham and truly loved the town. He proudly served his country in the US Army from 1955-1957 in Germany. George worked for over 30 years and retired from Haynes Laboratories, where he was a color matcher. In his leisure, he enjoyed being outside, gardening and his pets. His greatest passion was spending time with his family. George will be deeply missed by his wife of 54 years, Constance M. (Murphy) along with his three children, Craig Collette and his wife Felicia of Springfield, John Collette of Chicopee, and Tracy Blanchard and her husband Matthew of Wilbraham. George was the youngest of 11 children and is survived by his sister, June Jones of PA along with 4 grandsons, Nathan Collette, Aaron Collette, Kyle Blanchard, and Christopher Blanchard. Visitation will be Tuesday from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at the Beers & Story Palmer Funeral Home. A Funeral Mass will be Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. at St. Cecilia's Church with burial to follow in Woodland Dell Cemetery. Friends and family are asked to meet directly at the church."
