Online Obituaries for Lexington, Frankfort, and Versailles KY Louisville- George Collins, 83, husband of 62 years to Audra Auxier Collins, passed away Friday, April 21, 2017 after a courageous battle with pulmonary fibrosis. He was born on December 3, 1933 in Paintsville, KY to the late Lloyd and Edna Delong Collins. George graduated from Paintsville High School and was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. George was a Mason and Jaycee and retired from a 30 year career with Bellsouth. In retirement he enjoyed playing golf and cards with his friends and traveling with his family. Survivors include his wife, Audra, daughters, Kim Myers and Georgene Suffridge, of Louisville, grandchildren, Laura Myers, Rick (Amber) Myers, Maxwell Suffridge, Calla Suffridge, Kathryn (Jay) Durbin, 5 great- grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sisters, Virginia Lee Martin and Anna Lloyd Greenburger. Funeral services will be Tuesday April 25, 2017, 1pm, at Clark Legacy Center, Versailles Road. Rev. Scott Rawlings will officiate. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens.
