DOHERTY, George, V., 67 of Wesley Chapel, Fla., passed away Thursday, February 3, 2011 at his home surrounded by love. He was born in Queens, New York to his parents, George Sr. and Frances. A proud graduate of The University of Miami, he was a lifelong Hurricanes fan. George loved fishing, boating, traveling and reading, but his real love was his family and friends. He is survived by his best friend and loving wife, April; his adoring two children, Jennifer Doherty Julio and her husband, Dennis, of Fairfield, CT and Michael and his wife, Anja of Deltona, Fla.; his two brothers, Daniel of VA and John of GA; and three cherished grandchildren, Adam, Abbie and Matthew. His quick humor, calm presence, big laughs and love of life will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. A Celebration of George’s life will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Sunday at Loyless Funeral Home. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
