George Donald "Don" Ogden, 85, of Meridian went to be with his Savior, Jesus Christ, on Friday, June 29, 2012 at his home with his wife, Billie and his daughter, Debbie at his bedside. He had been diagnosed with lung cancer the first of the year and took 4 chemo treatments, and was told on April 13th that the cancer had spread over his entire right lung and the chemo would not help. Don loved the Lord, his family, and his friends so very much and spent the rest of his time here on earth letting them all know how much he loved them. Don was born on February 2, 1927 in San Diego, California to George and Edith Bianco. Don’s father was from Italy, and passed away when Don was 5 years old. His mother, Edith, remarried George Ogden who adopted Don and his older sister. Edith and George had a daughter who passed away in a horse accident. At 17 years old Don enlisted in the Navy and spent his Navy years in the Pacific aboard LST's and the USS El Dorado. His Navy ship was on its way to invade Japan when the war was over. After leaving the service, a friend introduced Don to the printing industry where he spent 35 years working for North Hollywood Printing and 3 years owning his own business. He and Billie retired in 1993 and moved to Boise, where they fell in love with the people and the area. The last 10 years they were members of Treasure Valley Worship Center. Don was an Elder and he and Billie were Greeters at the second service and loved greeting, hugging and loving all the people of all ages. Don was an avid golfer and played 3 times a week at Lakeview Golf Course in Meridian. He missed his golfing buddies these past months and so appreciated their visits and cards. Don is survived by his wife of 38 years, Billie; a son, John Ogden; a daughter Debbie Hughes and two step-daughters: Sandra Linebarier and Paula St. Martin, 10 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Private graveside services will be held at the Idaho State Veterans Cemetery. A celebration of Don's life will be held at 11:30 on Thursday, July 5th at Treasure Valley Worship Center, 50 West Spicewood Dr. in Meridian. A luncheon will follow at the Ten Mile Greens Club House just off Ten Mile and Teter Road. All are invited to join the family. Services are under the direction of Accent Funeral Home, Meridian. In lieu of flowers, Billie asks that donations be made to Treasure Valley Worship Center for a memorial for Don. Remembrances may be left for the family at www.AccentFuneral.com.

Accent Funeral Home
A local landmark in Meridian, Accent Funeral Home has been serving the community since 1986. The business was first established with a vision to offer services in a comfortable, homelike atmosphere. This vision is reflected in our building, a Tudor-style home built in 1938 for a local postman. When remodeling the house to accommodate the funeral home, much care was taken to preserve the original architectural integrity of the building. The Accent Funeral Home holds a special relationship with the Meridian community and is sensitive to the area’s changing needs, providing service and friendship to comfort those we serve....
