George Hugo Garrison

Obituary George H. Garrison, born October 15, 1942 - died July 17, 2016. Now with Jesus in heaven, his body whole, after 15+ years battling diabetes and other health issues and trauma from agent orange syndrome. George graduated from Fort Collins High School in 1959. After high school he attended Rockmont College in Longmont , it later became Colorado Christian University. Upon graduation he joined the Air Force in 1968. He was stationed in Thailand where he serviced drones used in reconnaissance. In his 4 years he rose to the rank of Tech 5. He was stationed at the Davis Monthan Air Force Base in Tucson, Arizona after Thiland. Upon his release in 1972 he worked briefly for Public Service CO. Then in 1973 joined his brother Dave in the Locksmith business. The lock shop was his dominion where he could find whatever someone needed. He was faithfully there when his health permitted. Gorge was a friend to many as well as brother, uncle, counselor, and mentor. His mission in life was to make people smile and laugh. Mission accomplished. His memorial service the Cheyenne VA facility, where he was a full time resident for 2 years was a true testament to that. At least 30 residents and staff gave testimony on how the "VA ambassador" toughed their, or their family members, lives in a caring way. Survivors include his brothers, Dave and Harold, sister in law Terry. Nieces Teresa (Teson) Bell and Esther Garrison. Nephews Jed (Kacey) Garrison, Samuel (Amber) Garrison.
