Hankins & Whittington Funeral Home
George "Jeff" Fredrick Hinkle
March 25th, 1950 - April 1st, 2024
George Fredrick ‘Jeff’ Hinkle, 74 of Cornelius, North Carolina said good-bye to this earthly home on Monday April 1, 2024 and was welcomed into his new Heavenly home by his Savior Jesus Christ.
Mr. Hinkle was born on March 25, 1950 in Charlotte, NC to the late Ted Hinkle and Wylene Harrison Hinkle. He attended public schools in the Charlotte area and graduated from Myers Park High School in 1968 where he was also elected school government president. He went on to graduate from the University of North Carolina- Chapel Hill. He worked primarily in the Insurance business for most of his career and retired in 2014, living in Cornelius, NC overlooking Lake Norman.
His love and devotion to his family were extraordinary and well known. He was an avid UNC Tarheel fan and spent many an evening texting with his brother on the outcome of many Carolina games. But he will be especially remembered for being a cherished and integral part of the lives of his two nephews and niece. Vacations and Holidays will never be quite the same without their beloved uncle, and of course their dotting Mee-Maw.
He is survived by his brother Hamp Hinkle and wife Deidre Bragg of Charlotte, nephew Charlie Hinkle and wife Paige and their son Graham of Charlotte, nephew Josh Hinkle of Pompano, Florida, and niece Ginnie Hinkle and fiancée Seth Black of Weaverville, NC.
Jeff lived life his own way but would not hesitate to help wherever he could with whatever he had. He lived a simple life, but when he loved you, you felt it down to your toes. May his tribe and likeness forever increase. May Jesus Christ be praised for giving us 74 years with our beloved friend and family member. But for those who know Christ as Savior, Jeff is just beginning his ‘New’ life, and we will join him soon, and then there will never be another separation.
A Memorial Service of Remembrance and Celebration will be help on Saturday June 29th, 2024 at Hankins and Whittington Funeral Home located on 1111 East Blvd, in Charlotte, NC 28203 at 11:00 AM. The family will receive friends for a Visitation at 10:00 AM at Hankins and Whittington Funeral Home. Interment will be privately.
