George W. Hunter

George Walter ""Bill"" Hunter, Jr. George Walter Hunter, Jr., 84, of Merritt Island, Florida, passed away on October 14, 2010. Mr. Hunter was preceded in death by his parents, Mamie Lee Hunter and George Walter Hunter, Sr. of Atlanta, Georgia. Mr. Hunter served in the U.S. Navy aboard the U.S.S. Baltimore in the Pacific. He was an accomplished jazz pianist and played with local bands in Atlanta, Georgia. A graduate of Emory University, Mr. Hunter was employed at Lockheed in Marietta, Georgia as a design engineer. In later years he worked as an engineer for the Kennedy Space Center in Cape Canaveral, Florida. Mr. Hunter is survived by several cousins. A graveside service in Tucker, Georgia will be held.
