George Richard Johnson

July 7th, 1923 - October 10th, 2012

George went to be with the Lord Wednesday, October 10, 2012. George was born in Arcadia, Nebraska on his mother’s birthday July 7, 1923. His family moved to Idaho in 1937 in the Model T truck George later restored. In 1945 he was drafted into the Army. He was stationed in Indianapolis as a guard for foreign prisoners. Returning to Idaho, he rented a farm in the Lakeview community. George met Charlotte Howell when her family was hired to cut onion seed for his family. They married in 1950. After years of farming, they retired in 1999, building a new home and concentrating on their antique car restorations. George worked hard all his life, was a loving father, a true friend who loved the Lord. We will miss him. George is survived by his wife of 62 years, Charlotte; three children, Lynn (Marg), Kristi (Jerry), Janette (Ed) and six grandchildren, Klaus (Mary Catherine), Anne (Jeff), Emily, Amanda, Nikki, Samuel, and two great-great grandchildren, Alex and Kacey. Following a private family burial, there will be an open house at the Johnson home Saturday, October 20, 2012 from 2:00PM to 5:00PM. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Boise Rescue Mission. Condolences for the family may be left online at www.flahifffuneralchapel.com. Service Information
