George Harold Johnson
February 26th, 1933 - October 12th, 2018
George Harold Johnson, Jr. age 85, passed away on October 12th, 2018 surrounded by loved ones. George was born in Minnesota on February 26th 1933 to George Harold Sr. and Martina Lilian Johnson. George pursued a career in the military right after graduating high school where he dedicated his life for 27 years, earning the rank as Captain. It was during this time, he met Kiyoko Takara, the love of his life, at Camp Swab in December 1959 then married in Naha in December 1962.He is a veteran of both the Korean and Vietnam Wars where he was decorated with the Bronze Star and the Purple Heart. He is preceeded in death by his sister, Donna Bergeron of Wisconsin. George is survived by his wife Kiyoko, his daughters Eileen and Kathleen, as well as his four grandchildren Erika, Ethan, Esteban and Emily. One surviving sister, Betty Swanson, resides in Minnesota. George’s final resting place can be found at Miramar National Cemetary Columbarium Plaza South Section O, Row 2 Site 2 Site 12 in San Diego, California.
