September 30th, 1923 - June 25th, 2001
Laneri, George G., 77, of St. Petersburg, died Monday June 25, 2001 at home under Hospice care of Lou Gehrig?s Disease A.L.S.. Born in Glastonbury, Connecticut, he came here in 1969 from Homestead, Florida. He retired from the U.S. Air Force as a Lt. Colonel, after serving for 28 years and was a Veteran of WWII, Korea and Vietnam. He was a member of Daskam Masonic Lodge #86 F & A M in Glastonbury, Connecticut, the Inventor?s Club of Largo, Florida, MacDill Air Force Base Officer?s Club, the Reserve Officer?s Association, the Air Force Association, the Gold Prospector?s Association, and was an industrial arts teacher for 19 years with the Pinellas County School System, teaching at Northeast High School and Morgan Fitzgerald Middle School. He was a Christian. He was preceded in death by a son, James Alan Laneri. Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Elizabeth C. ?Bette? Laneri, a daughter, Kathryn L. Kujak of Sarasota, Florida, 2 sons, Steven C. Laneri of Heber City, Utah and John R. Laneri of St. Petersburg, 2 sisters, Adeline Hagenow of Manchester, Connecticut and Mary L. DeToro of Middletown, Connecticut and 10 grandchildren. Anderson-McQueen Funeral Homes and Cremation Tribute Center?Ninth Street Chapel, St. Petersburg.
