George Douglas March
October 4th, 1950 - April 11th, 2018
George Douglas March (67), of Stockton, CA, graduated from this life into his everlasting life on April 11, 2018 after a three month fight with pancreatic cancer. He has now seen the face of God, has been embraced into the arms of his Savior and Lord, Jesus Christ, and now lives in pure joy and peace. With the comfort care of Bristol Hospice of Stockton, CA and Alexander Cohen Hospice House of Hughson, CA, his passing was peaceful and his loving wife was there with him by his side. “Because Thou hast been my help, therefore in the shadow of Thy wings will I rejoice,” Psalm 63:7. George was born in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada on October 4, 1950, the first born son of the late Patricia (Swaan) and the late Ira George March. He grew up in Sutter Creek, CA and graduated from Amador High School in 1969. George was extremely gifted and mechanical and could work on almost any kind of equipment and machinery. He attended some college at Delta College in Stockton, CA, and then moved to Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, where he completed his vocational training at the British Columbia Institute of Technology. He lived and worked in the specialized trade refrigeration and appliance repair in Canada for ten years. There he met his beloved wife, Susan (Prokop). He obtained his American citizenship while living in Canada, and after a short courtship in Canada, he and his beloved entered into Holy matrimony in Carson City, NV. They settled to live their lives together in Stockton, CA where he owned and operated his business, March’s Refrigeration, Heating, & Air, for thirty-seven years. He was a specialty tradesman contractor holding a C38 commercial refrigeration license, a C20 HVAC license, and also an appliance license. He was a life-long member of RSES (Refrigeration Service Engineer Society). He also attended and completed many refrigeration, heating and air schools receiving certificates to keep up with the changing technologies in the trade of his profession. George in his earlier years liked to go bass fishing, Odyssey dune buggy riding, hiking, and just enjoying God’s great creation outdoors with his family and sometimes also with friends. He was never called to serve his country, the United States of America, at time of war during the Vietnam era, as the war ended just before his number would be called to serve. At the end of his life he was attending Generation Life Church by Facebook Live Online. His pastor, Steve Rhodes, gave dynamic sermons and George and his wife, Susan, would fellowship with the congregation like they were there in the church. George also helped many churches by means of giving his time, goods, tithes, and offerings. He was well known for his honesty, skill, expertise, passion, and commitment to service to his customers. As well as a loving and devoted husband and father, George was a dedicated Christian and loved to tell people about how he came to have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. He dearly loved his family and friends, and treated his customers as an extension of his family. He was kind and generous, and every service job he completed he would do as if he was doing it for himself. He loved life and lived it caring for others, not himself. He will be missed by all. “They that sow in tears shall reap in joy,” Psalm 126:5. George was getting ready for retirement, having a list of projects waiting for him to stay busy during his golden years. One of his desires was to breed and sell Asian river buffalo. He had purchased a breeder bull and two cows to begin his heard. He loved to go down to visit his river buffalo in their Buffalo Meadow at his ranch in Sutter Creek, CA. In January of this year, his two cows gave birth to their first calves; both were bull calves. George was so pleased and happy, just before the cancer gripped his body and took him down. “Your faith and love continue because you know what is waiting for you in heaven – the hope that you have had since you first heard the true message, the Good News,” Colossians 1:5. George is survived by his loving wife, Susan (Prokop) March; son, George Joseph March, of Modesto, CA; daughter, Mary Ann March, of San Luis Obispo, CA; daughter, Jennifer Anne Louise March, of Stockton, CA; brother and sister-in-law, Daniel and Lana March, of Yuba City, CA; sister and brother-in-law, Loretta and Bill King, of Ione, CA; four grandchildren, Katherine, Billy, George Joseph March, Jr., and Abigail; four great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother, Phillip March, age 5 years old. Friends are invited to attend a visitation on Monday, April 23, 2018 from 9:30 A.M. – 12:00 P.M. at Daneri Mortuary in Jackson, CA followed by a graveside service also on Monday, April 23, 2018 at 1:00 P.M. in the Garden of Trees at Sunset View Cemetery in Jackson, CA. “I will see you again, and your heart shall rejoice, and your joy no man taketh from you,” John 16:22.
