George H. North
February 13th, 1937 - November 11th, 2023
George H. North, 86, passed away at his home on November 11, 2023. Born February 13, 1937 in Palmer, he was the son of Ernest and Bernice (Henry) North. George grew up in Monson and lived for many years in Belchertown. He worked as a supervisor of shipping and receiving at Friendly's until his retirement. During his youth, he was an avid baseball and hockey player. In his leisure, George enjoyed gardening, hunting and trips to the beach. As an avid New England sports fan, he enjoyed watching the Red Sox and Bruins. In 2022, George was predeceased by his daughter, Lynda M. North and his wife, Cynthia M. (Stabach) North. He is survived by his two daughters, Daryl A.North of Monson and Katrina B. Couture of Belchertown along with grandchildren, Kelton North, Kaden Couture, Kaia Couture and Kale Couture. George also leaves behind his sister, Cynthia Nordin and her husband Glen of Monson and his brother Robert E. North of Monson. Visitation will be Tuesday, Nov 21 from 10 a.m.-12 p.m. at the Beers & Story Belchertown Funeral Home with a graveside to follow at South Cemetery.
