George Ohnemus passed away December 22, 2017 in Lacey, Washington, his home of 44 years. He was born on April 5, 1945 to Kenneth and Ethel Ohnemus of Olympia. George graduated from Olympia High School in 1963. After high school, he served in the Air Force from 1965 to 1969. On October 10, 1970 he married Elizabeth Crisp of Yelm, Washington. They were madly in love for 46 years and created a beautiful life together. George worked as a sales associate at Olympia Lighting Center for 31 years, and then worked as a custodian for Griffin School where he retired in 2010. George loved his family, fishing, hunting and golfing. He started fishing as a toddler at his family cabin in Oso, Washington. Many great family memories were made camping with friends. George enjoyed golfing with his brothers and passed his love of golf on to several grandchildren. After retiring, he and Beth watched their grandchildren and did some traveling. He took two trips to Alaska, one with Beth on a cruise and the other with family to fish. Anytime George could be out in nature, he was happy. He was preceded in death by his loving wife Beth; parents; and brothers, Neil, Ron and Larry Ohnemus. George is survived by his daughters, Bridget Huennekens (William), Heather Hepp (Jeromy), Becky Powell, Elizabeth Hamilton (Jim); ten grandchildren, Liam, Heath, Ayden, Abby, Ryan, Dylan, Ethan, Olivia, JD, Jocelyn and one great-grandchild, baby Ethan. We will miss his endearing sense of humor and the sparkle in his eyes. Please leave memories of George or condolences for his family in the Guestbook below.
