The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, April 7, at Springfield Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home for George E. Roberts of Springfield, who died April 3 of age-related causes. He was 83.He was born Dec. 20, 1928, in Spearfish, S.D., to Walter and Wilma Currie Roberts.He married Dorothy Weiss on July 12, 1952, in Eugene. She died Jan. 20, 1998.He graduated from Lowell High School. He served in the U.S. Navy. He worked on many of the dam projects in the local area.Survivors include a son, Les of Cheshire; two daughters, Doris Roberts of Eugene and Linda Meiwes of Beaverton; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.Burial will follow the service at Springfield Memorial Gardens.Arrangements by Springfield Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home in Springfield.Remembrances to the American Kidney Foundation.
