George William Schak

May 11th, 1947 - August 24th, 2024

Georges William Schak, 77, of Viera died peacefully on August 24, 2024 at Vitas Hospital Inpatient Unit, holding his daughter Chloe Wisniewski who lovingly cared for him during his illness. He leaves behind a legacy of warmth, kindness, and cherished memories.

Georges was a devoted husband, father, grandpa, brother-in-law, uncle, cousin and friend to all. Son Lance Corporal James Langon will welcome him home along with his sister Patricia (Trish) Small. His beloved wife, Carol will miss him greatly and lovingly remember him. Son Tristan (Allyson) and daughter Chloe (Nathan); 4 grandchildren; Greta, Marla, Liberty and Vanessa as well as a host of relatives and friends will sadly miss and fondly remember him.

Georges was born and raised in central New Jersey. His mother, Georgette St Pierre was a French native brought home to America by his father Joseph after WWII. Georges was very proud of his French heritage and often made trips to France.

George graduated from Rutgers University with a Masters plus 30 degree. He taught special education students for many years in Piscataway, N.J. and moved to Florida with Carol after retiring. There they both pursued their love of music supporting and volunteering for the Space Coast Symphony Orchestra.

Georges cherished time spent with family and his grandkids who he explored teaching art to as an avenue of personal expression, universal, and lifelong skill. Georges was a member of Ascension Catholic Church in Melbourne and loved participating in the Catholic men’s fraternal organization of the Knights of Columbus. He enjoyed being outside gardening, making sketches in pencil, and expressing himself as a talented mixed media artist who painted extensively.

With our heartfelt gratitude we wish to thank the entire staff of Vitas Hospital Inpatient Unit. You showed compassion, care, and truly helped Georges and our family.

A special thanks to all who have prayed for Georges on this journey; he fought a courageous battle to live a full and active life amidst having Parkinson’s disease.

A funeral mass and burial will be held at Ascension Catholic Church in Melbourne on October 3, at 11:00 am.

In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Space Coast Symphony Orchestra online at P.O. Box 237646, Cocoa, Fl 32923 or Daily Bread of Melbourne, 815 East Fee Avenue, Melbourne, FL 32901
