George Gilbert Stennis
February 3rd, 1938 - October 6th, 2021
George Gilbert "Gib" Stennis of Windsor, Colorado passed away peacefully after a lengthy illness and a short battle with cancer. Gib was born in Meridian, MS on February 3, 1938 to George Locker and Annie Gene Stennis. He graduated from DeKalb High School and Mississippi State University with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. Gib enlisted in the Marine Corps and finished his duty with the Marine Corps Reserves. Gib spent most of his career working in the oilfield service industry. He worked in the Middle East, Africa and the USA for Halliburton Services, completing his tenure there as Assistant Division Manager for the Rocky Mountain Region. He went on to work for WellTech, Inc until he was able to achieve his goal of retiring at the age of 55 in Houston, TX. Upon retirement he was able to pursue his love of woodworking and built many wonderful pieces of furniture for himself and his family. In 1997 Gib moved his family to Colorado to be closer to his older son and his wife's family. He will be remembered lovingly as a husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. Gib is survived by his wife of 41 yrs, Beth and two sons, George Gilbert "Gil" Stennis II and his wife Kellie, of Berthoud, CO and John Christopher Stennis of Jackson, WY and Grandsons, Kaleb Stennis of Longmont, CO and Jordan Stennis of Fort Collins, CO. He is also survived by his Brothers Earl Stennis (Mary) and William Stennis of Mississippi and Christy Ball (Richard) of Texas and several nieces and nephews. No services are planned at this time.
