SPRINGFIELD — George Earl Weltch of Springfield died Nov. 30 of age-related causes. He was 83. No service is planned.He was born Sept. 2, 1926, in Coos Bay, to Andrew and Nina Beardsley Weltch. He married Betty Jean Fove on Jan. 27, 1948.He graduated from high school and served in the U.S. Army.He worked in the wood products industry and was a landscaping professional in Eugene.Survivors include his wife; six daughters, Gloria Stockton of Twentynine Palms, Calif., Rebecca Moorehead of Midland, Texas, Robin Weltch of Otis, and Patricia Wilson, Susan Wilcox and Valorie Smith, all of Springfield; a son, Michael; three sisters, Beth Fore of Springfield, Rosalie Richards of Drain and Nancy Stuck of Harrisburg; three brothers, Earl of Killeen, Texas, Timothy of Lowell and David of Eugene; 19 grandchildren; and 30 great-grandchildren.Arrangements by Murphy-Musgrove Funeral Home in Junction City.
