July 4th, 1935 - April 10th, 2024
Ways you can honor Georgia's memory:
Georgia Monette Quillin 88, of the Yuma Community, left her earthly home, after a long battle with Alzheimer’s, to be reunited in Heaven with the love of her life H.C., on April 10, 2024. Monette was the most kindhearted, caring, and compassionate person you could ever meet. She always put the needs of others before her own. Her greatest joy was visits from her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. They never left Mamaw Quillins' house empty handed. She was known by her family and friends as Mrs. Woolworth and later in life as Ms. Wal-Mart. She loved working with the public and meeting new people. Monette was preceded in death by her husband, H.C. Quillin, her parents, OJ Reed (stepfather) and Claudia Reed; brothers, William Thomas (Faye) and Cecil Thomas (Maxie). She is survived by her daughter, Kim Fansler (Randy); son, Kerry Quillen (Colleen); grandchildren, Reagan Thompson (B.J.), Matthew Fansler (Anna), Jared Fansler (Ashley), Sarah Silkwood, and Alex Quillen (fiancé Madison); great-grandchildren, Hailey and Luke Thompson, Paxton, Emory, Lofton, Brinkley and Rogan Fansler; Addie and Wyatt Silkwood; along with many nieces, nephews, family, and friends to cherish her memory. Monette will be laid to rest beside her husband, H.C. at the Quillin Family Cemetery , 183 Pin Oak Circle, Gate City, VA on Saturday, April 13, 2024 at 2:00 P.M. Pallbearers will be Matthew Fansler, Jared Fansler, B.J. Thompson, Alex Quillen, Ronald Quillen, and Jerry Quillen. Fred Quillen will serve as an honorary pallbearer. Those wishing to attend are asked to meet at the cemetery by 1:50 P.M. Monette’s family would like to express our sincere thanks to The Village at Allendale (Virginia’s Garden) and Gentiva Hospice for their loving care, kindness and patience during her battle with this terrible disease. We would also like to thank her very special sister-in-law, Dorothy Quillen, for her visits, calls, support and of course, her delicious candy.
