Georgiana Rasch
September 24th, 1921 - July 26th, 2020
Georgiana “Georgie” Rasch, 98, passed away Sunday, July 26, 2020, at Harmony Hills Assisted Living in Meridian. Georgie was born September 24, 1921, in St. Thomas, Missouri to Henry and Agnes (Verhoff) Kleffner. Georgie was raised in St. Louis, Missouri. On December 2, 1944 she married Otto Henry Rasch Jr., an officer in the Army Air Force as a Navigator. They were married at St. Bernard Catholic Church in St. Louis Missouri. During World War II, Georgie worked at an assembly plant, assembling grenades. After the war, they lived in the city of St. Louis and six years later moved to Brentwood, Missouri. Georgie was proud to call herself a homemaker raising four children; Regina Marie (Reggie – Bunny), Gerald Otto (Gerry), Mary Ann and Michael David (Mike). Georgie devoted many years volunteering at St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church in Brentwood. She was a member and president of the Legion of Mary and also enjoyed being an usher. Georgie loved to entertain and decorate for special holidays. She was an avid photographer, seamstress, reader, and gardener. She is survived by her children: Regina “Bunny” Stephens, Gerry (Pat) Rasch, son-in-law John Moore; grandchildren: Troy (Sheya) Stephens, Shawn Stephens, Jessica Rasch Ferguson (Chris), Mike Rasch and Kyle Rasch; great grandchildren: Sami, Alli and Mandi Stephens. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Otto; sister Genevieve Nettelhorst; son Mike; daughter Mary Ann Moore; granddaughter Devon Rasch and son-in-law Robert (Bob) Stephens. Along with numerous sister and brother in-laws and nieces. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 am Saturday August 8, 2020 at Holy Apostles Catholic Church in Meridian, Inurnment will take place at a later date in St. Louis, Missouri. Donations may be made in Georgie’s name to St. Mary Magdalen Church, CARE Ministry 2618 S. Brentwood Blvd, St. Louis MO 63144 or a charity of your choice.
