Gerald Raymond Crabtree

June 2nd, 1941 - October 17th, 2012

Gerald “Jerry” Crabtree, 71, of Caldwell passed away October 17, 2012 at Ashley Manor in Middleton, Idaho. In 1983 he married the love of his life Maria E. Longoria who he cherished with all his heart. Jerry loved the outdoors; his favorite times in life were spent at the Oregon coast with his wife and grandchildren. He also loved going to the mountains camping and four wheeling with best friends which where his son; Rod Smith, grandson; Andy Ortega and big brother; Preston Crabtree. Jerry worked many years at the JR Simplot Co and Bigelow Tea Company until he retired. Anyone who knew Jerry knew that he lived for his family. He always had a special place in his heart for his six grandchildren; Andy, Crystal, Beka, Katie, Jessica and Jacob. One of the happiest moments of his life was when he was reunited with his eldest children. Jerry was preceded in death by his parents; James and Mariam Crabtree, Brother; Clifford Crabtree, Father and Mother in law; Elias and Catalina Longoria, Brother in law; Gilbert Longoria, Brother and Sister in law; Octavio and Ludivina Cruz, and Nephews; Alfredo Cruz and Jeff Crabtree. Jerry is survived by his Wife; Maria, Children; Alma Ortega, Rod (Debbie) Smith, and Pam Hobart. Siblings; Preston and Marlene Crabtree, Wynona Larsen, Lonel and Janie Crabtree, Sandy and Randy Dooms. Grandchildren; Andy and Crystal Ortega, Rebeka and Katie Smith, Jacob and Jessica Hobart. Great-grandchild; Jeremiah Hobart, and numerous nieces and nephews. He will be greatly missed by all the Longoria and Crabtree family. “You never leave someone behind; you take a part of them with you and leave a part of yourself behind.” We love you Grandpa. A funeral service will be held Friday, October 19, 2012, 12:00PM at Flahiff Funeral Chapel, Caldwell with graveside to follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens.
