Lexington, KY Gerald S. Greene, 83, of Lexington, KY died Sunday, February 2, 2014. Born to the late R.C. and Nelle Greene on September 22, 1930 in Alva, KY. Married for 57 years to Sue (Hodges) Greene. Gerald served in the Army during the Korean conflict, retired from UK after 31 years of service and spent every spring trout fishing at the Bone Valley and Hazel Creek confluence. Some say he was a legend in the cold streams of the TN/NC mountains. A devoted husband, father and UK sports fan, holding season tickets since 1961 and rarely missing a game with his son, Mark. Gerald was an active member of Central Baptist Church and enjoyed singing in the choir. He was well known for always having a great smile and quick to give a comforting hug. He is survived by children, Mark Greene and Jennifer (Stephen) Erena; siblings Isabelle Kentner, James B. (Barbara) Greene and Lenora (Ron) Stair. Funeral Information A Celebration of Life will be Wednesday, February 5, 2014 at 7 p.m. at Central Baptist Church, 110 Wilson Downing Drive, Lexington, KY 40517 with visitation 5-7 p.m.
