Gerald E. Lyons, 78, husband of Diane Lyons died on Mon., October 3, 2022 in Lexington, KY. He was born on August 12, 1944 in Cincinnati, OH to the late William and Margaret Lyons. Gerald retired from the USMC with over 21 yrs of service as a Master Sgt in which he served his country with honor. He was a teacher for over 20 year of Marine Corp ROTC with Shelby County High School and Covington Holmes High School. Other than his wife Diane he is survived by one son, Jeff Lyons, Lexington, KY; one daughter, Mary Lyons, Lexington, KY; two grandchildren, Andrew Richie, Lexington, KY and Noelle (Cody) Curry, Versailles, KY; two great-grandchildren, Paisley Ashcraft and Emmy Curry; one sister, Connie Yager, Mt. Sterling, KY ; sisters-in-laws Karen Lyons and Terri Moore and many other nieces, nephews and extended family. He was preceded in death by Charles, Earl and Billy Lyons. A visitation will be from 6pm-8pm Thurs. October 6, 2022 at Clark Legacy Center – Brannon Crossing. A funeral service will be 9am Fri., October 7, 2022 at the funeral home. Burial with military honors to follow at Camp Nelson National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial donations are suggested to the National Heart Association.
