Gerald Maxwell, age 79, passed away January 23, 2022. A Graveside service for family only will be held at Andersonville National Cemetery Friday, January 28th, 2022 at 12:00 PM. The friends can greet the family Thursday, January 27th, 2022 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Heritage Memorial Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family ask that donations be made to Wounded Warrior Project. Gerald was born on June 4, 1942 to the late Will Maxwell and Maxie Maxwell. He is also preceded in death by his brother: Hugh Maxwell, and his children, Terry and Connie. Gerald proudly served in the United States Air Force retiring as a Chief Master Sergeant. He then worked at Robins Air Force Base for several years as civil service. Gerald was an avid hunter and bass fisherman who enjoyed watching the Atlanta Braves and the Dallas Cowboys. Most importantly, Gerald enjoyed spending time with his dear family and friends. Gerald is survived by his wife of 16 years, Mary Maxwell; children, Gerald Wayne (Marie) Maxwell, Jr.; grandchildren, Chris, Heather, Heidi, Amberlynn, Will & Ben; numerous great grandchildren, and a host of extended friends and family.
