Jerry attended Washington Elementary School and Green River High School in Green River, Wyoming; graduating from Green River High School in 1964. In May of 1965 Jerry was drafted into the United States Army as a 71B. While home on leave, Jerry married his high school Sweetheart, Corlis Spink (Genetti) on July 24th, 1965 in Green River, Wyoming. As a result of their union, Cindy Lee (Daddy's Little Girl) and Teresa Ann (Daddy's Little Helper) were born. Jerry and Corlis were sealed to each other and their two daughters for time and all eternity in the LDS Salt Lake Temple on October 16th, 1972. During his time in the Army he served in the Vietnam War where his awards included Vietnam Service Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal and Vietnam Campaign Medal. He was met in Heaven by his mother and father, his father in law James Genetti, his brother Merrill and his sister in law Carrie. There was never a minute that Jerry was not proud of, talked about and loved his family. He enjoyed being a grandpa and doing his many different magic tricks especially the missing finger trick.
