Gerald R. "Jerry" Schmidt of Waukesha passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Wednesday, August 3, 2016 at the age of 61 years. He was the son of Fred and June Schmidt. Jerry was devoted to his career, working in sales for 20 years. He enjoyed cooking, grilling, and anything outdoors. He was an avid Wisconsin sports fan, and animal lover; and the life of the party. Most of all he loved spending time with family. Jerry will be sadly missed by his wife, Nancy of eight years, his daughters, Jennifer (Jeff) Patzer, Ericka Schmidt, Holly (TJ) McCormick and Katherine Wessel; grandchildren, Ava, Harper and Hudson; siblings, Kathy (Dick) Przybyla, Sue (Don) Huebschen, Fred (LuAnn) Schmidt, Mark (Cindy) Schmidt and Carol (Kevin) Ott; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and his beloved four legged friends, Captain Jack and Bambi. A gathering of friends and family will be held on Wednesday, August 10, 2016 from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the 2:00 p.m. Memorial Service at Cesarz, Charapata & Zinnecker Funeral Home, 237 N. Moreland Blvd., Waukesha, WI 53188.
