Gerald Louis Siote
July 18th, 1949 - February 3rd, 2023
Gerald Louis Siote Sr. 1949-2023 Gerald (Jerry) Louis Siote Sr., of Westminster, Colorado, passed away peacefully on Friday February 3rd, 2023, at the age of 73. Jerry is survived by his wife of 41 years, Rosemary (Sissy) Siote, Gerald (Jerry) Anthony Siote Jr. (son), Katherine (Katie) Siote (daughter-in-law), Linda McLaughlin (sister), Norma LaGuardia (sister-in-law), Richard LaGuardia (brother-in-law) along with nephews John McLaughlin, Steven Siote, Ronald Siote Jr. and Michael West. Jerry was preceded in death by Brian Michael Siote (son), Louis Siote (father), Carmel Siote (mother), Ronald Siote (brother) and Randy Siote (brother). Originally from Denver, CO, Jerry attended Denver North High School, then went on to attend Colorado State University and later graduated from the University of Northern Colorado. Jerry served his country as a U.S. Army Medical Corpsman in Vietnam over a 19-month span from 1969 to 1971 where he received a Bronze Star Medal for meritorious service in a combat zone. Upon his return from service, Jerry worked for the United States Postal Service as a Letter Carrier for 29 years and retired in 2008. Jerry loved his family, his friends and enjoyed being surrounded by the outdoors. Jerry had a magnetic personality, a warm spirit and a laugh that will always be remembered for the good things in life. He was an avid reader of history, sports and anything offered in the daily Rocky Mountain News and Denver Post. He always provided for his family in good times and bad and possessed a life-long curiosity along with a love for learning that sustained him all the way to the end. Whether it was taking his son to a Broncos game, catching his limit at Lost Man Lake or dancing at special occasions, Jerry knew how to enjoy the simple things, a lesson for all of us. Jerry exemplified what it meant to be a truly genuine father, husband, brother, uncle and friend. He was loved by many, and we loved him back. An open visitation celebrating his life with family and friends will be held at Aspen Mortuary (1350 Simms St, Lakewood, CO 80401) from 12:00pm to 1:00pm on Thursday, February 23rd followed by military service honors at Fort Logan National Cemetery (4400 W Kenyon Ave, Denver, CO 80236) at 2:30pm. In lieu of flowers, please leave your favorite memory of Gerald on his tribute wall.
