Our beloved Mom, Nonne, and Bis Nonne, Gerry Azaro, passed away peacefully on October 12, 2024 and lived an amazing 96 years. Born Geraldine Dal Porto, to William and Elizabeth Dal Porto on July 29 1928, in Stockton, CA. She attended Stockton College and belonged to Delta Delta Delta Sorority graduating in 1949. In 1951 she met the love of her life, a young man from Italy, Albert Azaro and in 1952 married and moved to Oakland. In 1956 their son Bruce was born and looking to grow their family they moved to the country to a town called Orinda, CA. Diane came 2 years later and they lived there for the next 60+ years. Gerry became very active at the Catholic School her children attended. Volunteering in the school library, the Santa Maria Women’s Guild, baking, and yard duty. She was ever present helping out when needed. Gerry will always be remembered for her amazing Italian cooking and specialty dishes.
