Geraldine Joyce Krutsch

November 3rd, 1929 - September 22nd, 2023

Geraldine Joyce Granberg was born November 3, 1929, to Myrtle Katherine Granberg & John William Granberg in Winner, South Dakota. Geraldine was Baptized in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit On the 8th day of June in the year of our Lord 1930 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Dixon, South Dakota. Her family lived in Dixon where her dad was a Blacksmith. She attended a one room school through 6th grade. Moved to Fresno in September 1941 where her dad was employed with Mare Island Navy Yard in Vallejo building ships. She was confirmed in the First Swedish Misson Covenant Church, Fresno, California in 1943. Geraldine, Graduated from Hot Springs High School, Hot Springs, South Dakota in May 1947. Geraldine and her parents moved to Guam, sailed on the USS General W.A. Mann Ship, and lived there from 1947 to Spring of 1948 at the Santa Rita Naval Base. She attended the University of South Dakota in Vermillion, South Dakota; she was a member of PI Beta Phi Social Sorority. She majored in Sociology, and she wanted to be a counselor for a big company. At 18 she was crowned miss Hot Springs representing Fall River County. Geraldine & Gerald Krutsch meet at the University of South Dakota and were united in marriage June 18, 1950, at Bethesda Lutheran Church, Hot Springs South Dakota. To this union four children were born Gerald Duane, David John, Kevin William, and Kimberly Diane. The family moved to Northglenn, Colorado in December 1961 where they joined Gethsemane Lutheran Church. Geri was active in the church guilds, taught the Bethel Bible Series, Her passion was collecting eyeglasses and sending them to the Mission Fields. She worked for Dr. Leeds a pediatrician for 20 years and retired when he did. She enjoyed her Roses, Knitting, Needle point, reading and traveling. She toured Europe with granddaughter Krystal and her foreign language group. She also toured Scandinavia with her fellow Nelson relatives. Her favorite vacation spot in the US was Little America Resort in Cheyenne, Wyoming. Her parents Myrtle & Bill Granberg, her older brother William Berthal, and her husband Gerald Krutsch preceded her in death. Left is her brother Frank (Mary) Granberg, children; Duane (Kathy), David (Frances), Kevin & Kimberly, 5 Grandchildren Dr. Jason, Melissa, Jared, Krystal, and Levi. 8 Great Grandchildren, Johnny, Jake, Jace, Gia, Gabriela, Presli, Chandlyr, and Oliver. A Memorial Service for Geraldine will be held at 1:00pm, Sunday, October 15, 2023 at Gethsemane Lutheran Church, 10675 Washington Street, Northglenn, Colorado 80233. Lunch will follow the Memorial Service in the Church Basement.
