Her parents raised her up in the church along with her siblings and she stayed strong in her faith in Jesus Christ and in the power of prayer. Geraldine attended Selma, Alabama public schools, beginning at East End Elementary School which, ironically, was on a street right behind her backyard. She could walk out of her back door and be at school in a few seconds. Geraldine went on to become a 1965 graduate of R. B. Hudson High School in Selma, Alabama. Geraldine met Otha L. Morgan one day in March 1963, as she walked home alone from high school. Geraldine and Otha were married on November 21, 1966 at the Rudolph Home in Selma, Alabama. Otha was serving in the United States Army, stationed at Fort Ord, California in Monterey County. Geraldine returned to Monterey County, California with her new husband and they made their home in Seaside, California, then Marina, California. They had two boys, Gerald and Alvin. Geraldine joined New Hope Baptist Church in Seaside under Pastor Paige. She later joined Friendship Baptist Church, also in Seaside under Pastor McFadden, where she taught children Sunday School. Geraldine later returned to New Hope Baptist Church where served as a deaconess. Geraldine worked for the Social Security Administration for more than 20 years before she retired. She was a very caring wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Geraldine was preceded in death by her son, Gerald Marvin Morgan, Sr., her parents, Frank and Bama Rudolph, her sister, Sallie Rudolph Taggett and a nephew, Carl Tyrone Taggett. Survivors include: her husband, Otha L. Morgan; son, Alvin Morgan; grandchildren, Gerald Morgan, Jr. and his wife Leah, Michelle Morgan and Michael Morgan; great grandchild, Lucas Morgan; siblings, Esther Rudolph Sample, Frankie Rudolph Allen and William Rudolph; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. We Entrusted Geraldine Morgan's Care To
Healey Mortuary
At Healey, we treat our Salinas Valley community members like family. Our story begins after World War II when Veteran Herbert C. Healey hoped to find a way to continue to meaningfully help his county and community grow. He and his wife founded Salinas Valley Mortuary in 1956 to help serve the families in the Salinas Valley area. Their lifelong mission was to unselfishly serve area families based on their strong, trusting relationship with their community – something we honor to this day almost seven decades years later....
