Gerry Lynne Genz

August 17th, 1946 - April 8th, 2024

Gerry Lynne Genz went home to be with Jesus on the afternoon of April 8, 2024.

 

Gerry was born on August 17th, 1946, to Jack and Betty Carter in Shenandoah, IA.

 

She married Melvin Dale Genz on June 15, 1985, in Hawaii.  She had four boys, Timothy Carter, Rick Genz, Ronald Brown and Edward Zwetzig.

 

Gerry enjoyed a lifelong career as a Cosmetologist and owned three beauty shops in the Greeley area.

 

She loved spending time with her family and friends, enjoyed playing bingo and creating art.

 

She will be best remembered for her incredible sense of humor and infectious smile.  

 

She made everyone feel loved and before ending a visit or phone call she would say….”I Love You More!”     

 

Gerry is survived by her husband Melvin; sister, Janet Lee; four sons, Timothy (Stephanie)Carter, Rick (Janet) Genz, Ronald (Ivy) Brown and Edward (Shawna) Zwetzig; grandchildren, Joshua, Ashley, Raini, Devon, Scooter, Cody, 

Dustin, Heather, Jordyn, Reid, Evan, Justine, Josh, Kaylynn, Quinn, Paige, Eric, and Gary, and numerous great grandchildren.

 

Gerry is preceded in death by her parents, Jack and Betty Carter, brother, Gary J. Carter, and Granddaughter, Brittany Carter.

 

A Memorial and Celebration of Life is planned for April 15th, 2024, at Harvest Time Tabernacle- 3040 11th Ave. Evans, CO, 3:00 pm.  A light snack will be served.  All who loved her are welcome to attend.   

 

For those wishing to contribute to a memorial in Gerry’s honor, (in lieu of flowers), kindly make donations to Melvin Genz at the service or via Venmo to Ronald-Brown-150.

Gerry, i can’t imagine the void in my life had I never known you.. I wonder if you knew how truly beautiful you are, and what a joy you were to be around, and what an absolutely perfect personality that you were born with???? You loved me unconditionally and that was a gift to me. To know you was to love you.
