Gertrude "Trudy" Pippin Cooke " Maw Maw to everyone, 100, passed away on Friday, January 1, 2016 at Autumn Care of Cornelius, NC. A memorial service will be held at 11am, Saturday, January 9, 2016, in the Fellowship Hall of Southside Baptist Church 301 Elmhurst Rd. Charlotte, NC 28209 with the Rev. Doug Agnew officiating. Born March 4, 1915, Maw Maw was the daughter of the late Norman Reece Pippin and the late Maude Surratt Tallent. She was a member of Southside Baptist, which she and her husband started attending in 1940. She was a loving Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother and Great-Great-Grandmother. She is survived by her sons, Albert C Cook, C. Bruce Cooke (wife Toni) of Charlotte, NC. Norman R. Cooke of Nashville, Tn. and daughter Elizabeth "Sis" Cooke Richardt of Charlotte, NC, 35 grandchildren, over 100 great and great-great-grandchildren, and her sister Blanche Byars of Rock Hill, SC. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clifford F Cooke, sons, Donald "Buddy" Cooke, Lewis Cooke, Floyd Cooke, 3 sisters and 1 brother.
