Green, Gertrude Gilbert "Trudy",91, of St. Petersburg, passed away July 15, 2015. Born in Mobile, Alabama, she lived previously in Panama City, FL, Iowa Falls, IA and Albany, GA before residing in St. Petersburg since 1954. Trudy is preceded in death by her husband Bob Green; her parents, Liller and Albert Gilbert; her siblings: Hazel Johnson; Tina Bryan; Houston Gilbert. She is survived by her daughters Barbara DeGroot and Constance Green; grandson William DeGroot; sister Midge Stone; and brother Tony Gilbert. In a life spanning mules and moon shots, Trudy was a woman with an exceptionally sweet nature and lively mind. Her unshakable belief in woman's rights and the empowerment of the less privileged led her to years of work with The College Fund, the Girl Scouts and her church. Trudy, her husband Bob and daughters traveled untold thousands of miles of American highways with curiosity and adventure around each bend. She was always a magnet to people, children and all animals who sensed her inherent goodness.
